Paramount And Recur Launch Star Trek's Prime NFT Collection, Five Minutes Sold Out!

JAKARTA - Paramount and RECUR announced that they will launch a new Star Trek-themed NFT collection on Wednesday, April 6th. The two companies announced that Star Trek will be the first NFT digital collection to step down from their multi-year partnership to bring Paramount's beloved entertainment brand and characters to the metaverse.

According to an article posted on StarTrek.com, fans will be able to access the Star Trek digital collection starting April 9 through a new online portal, Paramount.xyz, to access Paramount's iconic IP and beloved franchise in the form of NFT.

Paramount.xyz enables fans to build communities, engage with peers, and unlock new, innovative and interactive experiences with the properties and brands they love.

“Fans need to be able to engage with our content wherever they are, including the metaverse", said Pam Kaufman, President, Consumer Products and Experiences, Paramount.

Kaufman added that Paramount.xyz will offer fans a seamless digital collection experience across their major franchises, starting with Star Trek, and will be followed by collections from Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures.

Currently, the inaugural collection of NFT Star Trek tokens is sold out. "It only took five minutes for the inaugural collection of non-fungible (NFT) Star Trek tokens for $250 to sell out on Saturday morning", said William Shatner, better known as Captain James T. He played Kirk in the television series Star Trek from 1966 to 1969, quoted by the Hollywood Reporter, Sunday, April 10.
