BNPB Distributes Masks At The Istiqlal Mosque To Strengthen Prokes During Ramadan

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) distributed thousands of masks to the people around the Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta, and the Grand Mosque in Bogor City to strengthen health protocols (prokes) during the month of Ramadan. In a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday 7 April evening, BNPB involved the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in two regions and volunteers in the activity. The distribution of masks was carried out for three days, namely April 4-6 2022 at the Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta. Distribution points at Istiqlal are located at every entrance and around the mosque. As many as 23,000 masks were distributed to the mosque community and residents around the mosque. BNPB through the Deputy for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction targeted Istiqlal Mosque worshipers, traders around the mosque, mosque administrators and mosque visitors as recipients of masks, "Activities aimed at strengthening residents' progress can make prayer services comfortable. In addition, this will prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus among residents, both in places of worship and in the surrounding environment," said Acting Head of the Data Center, BNPB Disaster Information and Communication Abdul Muhari. In addition, Abdul said BNPB distributed 5,000 masks at the Great Mosque of Bogor City, West Java Province. The distribution at the Grand Mosque was carried out by BNPB on April 5 – 6, 2022, and targeted the recipients of masks at the congregation and mosque administrators as well as residents around the mosque. According to Antara, in areas with PPKM Level 3 the number of people praying is 50 percent of the maximum capacity of the room, while PPKM Level 2 is a maximum of 75. percent, and for areas with PPKM Level 1 a maximum of 100 percent.
