Case Of Husband Slashing Wife Because Of Asking For Divorce In Rejang Lebong, Police Are Still Busy Completing Files
REJANG LEBONG - Investigating officers from the Rejang Lebong Resort Police (Polres) of the Bengkulu Police are currently finalizing the investigation file for the murder of his wife on March 26. The perpetrator in this case is the husband of the victim.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Sampson Sosa Hutapea said, to complete the examination file on AR (28), a resident of Air Apo Village, Binduriang District, Rejang Lebong Regency, his party had examined 10 witnesses.
"Currently, we are still completing the file, and we are continuing to coordinate with the prosecutor. If there are instructions from the prosecutor, of course we will complete it later," said Sampson at the Rejang Lebong Police Headquarters, Antara, Thursday, April 7.
The murder victim with the initials NA (27), a resident of Air Apo Village, Binduriang District, Rejang Lebong Regency. The incident was triggered when NA suddenly asked for a divorce because she didn't love him anymore. Not only that, the victim suspected that his wife already had a lover.
Hearing this request, the perpetrator was furious. Unexpectedly, AR took a machete from the kitchen and slashed his wife to death.
"It happened on Saturday, March 26 at around 09.00 WIB in the morning," he explained.
As far as the files, according to Sampson, his party has submitted a notification letter for the start of the investigation or SPDP to the Rejang Lebong Kejari.
So far, he said, there are no problems in the filing of the suspect perpetrators, considering that the person concerned is cooperative and has confessed to his actions.
This suspect was snared by investigators for violating Article 44 paragraph 3 of Law no. 23/2004, concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison.
