KPK Denies Forcing Employees To Pay Dues For COVID-19 Handling Assistance

JAKARTA - The head of the KPK's COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) as well as the administrator of the Indonesian Civil Service Corps (Korpri), Yonathan Demme Tangdilintin denied any coercive collection of donations for the handling of COVID-19.

This was conveyed in response to the circulation of a circular letter containing an appeal for employees to pay dues with reasons for caring actions.

There are two circulars in question, namely SE Number 05 of 2022 concerning Calls for Concern for the Great Family of KPK Personnel for National Natural/Non-Natural Disasters and Handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic within the KPK and SE Number 07 concerning Calls for Concern for Large Human Families. "This collection of donations is voluntary without any coercion," said Yonathan in a written statement, Thursday, April 7.

Yonathan said that the donations collected from the employees will be donated to those who need help. Including, external parties within the KPK.

In addition, its use is done transparently. All will be reported to the employees who donate.

"The use will be reported in a transparent and accountable manner to all KPK employees," he said.

After all, Jonathan said this is not the first time this kind of donation has been collected. However, it has been done several times.

"In the KPK environment, the culture of solidarity is highly upheld. Employees often donate if there are employees who are stricken by disaster. Both sick and natural disasters," he said.

In fact, he continued, this year, the KPK is again collecting humanitarian funds. Not only for employees and related parties at the KPK, the plan is that the money collected will also be donated to the community affected by the disaster.

Yonathan said that in its implementation, the anti-corruption commission would cooperate with social institutions for distribution. Meanwhile, to launch this intention, Korpri KPK will facilitate the collection and reporting.

"So that the management of humanitarian donations is transparent and accountable to all KPK employees," explained Yonathan.

"We hope that all parties can interpret the collection and delivery of these donations in a positive way. As a reinforcement of the sense of togetherness to help each other, it is not limited to only between KPK employees, but also the wider community," he added.

In the Circular Circular Letter, in particular SE No. 05 of 2022, it is stated that the KPK appeals to its employees to make contributions or voluntary donations for humanity. However, there is a minimum donation for each position.

For JPT Madya positions, a minimum donation of IDR 3 million; JPT Pratama minimum donation of IDR 2 million; administrator positions and JF Expert Madya minimum donation of Rp. 1 million.

Meanwhile, for the positions of JF Junior Expert and JF First Expert, a minimum donation of IDR 500 thousand; as well as executive positions and JF Skills, a minimum donation of IDR 250 thousand.

The circular containing the minimum donation was signed by the Secretary General of the KPK, Cahya Harefa on March 8. Meanwhile, SE Number 7 was signed by the Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Alexander Marwata, on March 19.
