Under Development, Tomb Raider Game Will Use Unreal Engine 5
JAKARTA - Crystal Dynamics will again be responsible for starting the development of the new Tomb Raider game. In a tweet by the official Tomb Raider account on Tuesday, April 5, the studio said that this development will run on Epic's new Unreal Engine 5.
For your information, Unreal Engine is a game development application created by Epic Games, and made its debut in 1998, with a first-person shooter-themed game.
Unreal Engine has indeed dominated as the basis of AAA games for the past few months. Starting from Fortnite, Gears 5, Borderlands 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, to Dragon Ball Fighter Z are a few names that take advantage of the Unreal Engine.

There is no further information about the theme, story, or approximately when the release window for the latest Tomb Raider series is. However, Crystal Dynamics says the move to UE5 will help the studio take its "story to the next level."
The next Tomb Raider joins some of the games already announced for UE5, including the next Witcher game and Black Myth: Wukong. Of that group, only the latter has a release date, with Chinese developer Game Science Studio aiming to get it out sometime in 2023.
