JAKARTA - Martyn Ford took to social media to announce that the long-awaited fight against Sajad Gharib, better known as the Iranian Hulk, will not happen.

The announcement came after Iran's Hulk pulled out of a boxing match scheduled to take place at the 02 Arena in London on April 30.

"Boxstar today confirms that due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming fight between Martyn Ford and the Iranian Hulk will no longer take place," Ford wrote on Instagram.

"The fight will headline the Boxstar Celebrity Boxing event at London's O2 Arena on Saturday 30 April.

"The event itself, which will feature former Premier League footballers Patrice Evra and Jamie O'Hara, along with podcast host James English, will continue as planned."

The British boxer expressed his disappointment following the cancellation of the fight against the Iranian Hulk. However, he emphasized that he would attend the event as a fan.

"Of course, I am very disappointed that my fight against the Iranian Hulk will not continue, especially given the fact that I have dedicated so much time to my training program and did everything to ensure I am in the best shape possible to headline the event," Ford said.

“While I will no longer be involved, I am now looking forward to attending Boxstar Celebrity Boxing events as a fan, and showing my full support to the brave competitors taking part, some of whom will be competing in boxing matches for the title for the first time in their lives. .

"I want to thank my fans for their continued support, and I look forward to getting back in the ring in competition as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, The Sun recently revealed about the ordeal Gharibi went through after he was pushed against Ford in Dubai at a press conference.

From the video clips circulating, Gharibi was at first helpless in trying to push Ford. In the next video, Ford forcefully pushes Gharibi down.

The Iranian Hulk was embarrassed too. He vent while crying in an interview on a television show because his own mother was not recognized after being pushed down by Ford.

"I couldn't call my family, when I came back (to Iran) I didn't go to my family," Iran's Hulk told Iranian TV.

"I couldn't talk to my mum and dad. When I spoke to him he said: 'The person in this video I see is not my son, my son is much stronger than this'.
