Ahead Of Chelsea Vs Real Madrid, Courtois: I Hope The Blues Fans Don't Make Fun Of Me

JAKARTA - Thibaut Courtois will return to his former club Chelsea when Real Madrid head to Stamford Bridge for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night. The Belgian goalkeeper hopes he doesn't get a bad reception from his former supporters.

Real Madrid are hoping to take revenge on the Blues for their Champions League semi-final defeat in 2020/21. Courtois' good form will continue.

"I hope they don't boo me, but you never know," Courtois told Real Madrid's official website.

"I'm ready for whatever comes and we'll have to see how it goes.

"I hope it's a happy return to Stamford Bridge. We are rivals now. They want to win and the same goes for me too, so I don't expect applause from the fans."

After leaving Chelsea for Los Merengues, Courtois emphatically admitted that it was a dream come true, and one he never imagined would happen for him.

"When I arrive at the training ground and see the Real Madrid badge, I sometimes think: Pinch me! This isn't a dream, is it?" he added.

"Even in my wildest dreams, I could not imagine that one day I would play for Real Madrid.

"That's the good thing about football. You have to believe in yourself and that one day your dreams will come true".
