Mataram City Government Issues Circular, Banning Firecracker Wars During Ramadan: It Can Trigger Brawls
JAKARTA - Mataram City Government, West Nusa Tenggara, asked all owners and managers of entertainment venues in the city to close or not carry out activities during Ramadan 1443 Hijri this year.
"So that the implementation of Ramadan fasting in a solemn, peaceful, serene atmosphere, and respecting each other," said Head of Communications and Information Technology Mataram, I Nyoman Swandia in Mataram, Monday, April 4.
The request for the closure of entertainment venues such as karaoke places is clearly stated in the Circular of the Mayor of Mataram in the context of the month of Ramadan and Eid 1443 Hijri in point five.
"In point five it is stated that all owners and managers of entertainment venues do not carry out activities during Ramadan. We hope that this can be of interest to all for the common good," he said.
On the other hand, continued Swandiasa, the circular also regulates operating hours for owners of restaurants, stalls, and restaurants, to start opening at 16.30 p.m. until 04.30 a.m. (imsak time).
Furthermore, shop owners, kiosks, and residents are asked not to sell, distribute, sound firecrackers, firecrackers, and the like or other activities that can interfere with Muslim worship activities.

For supervision of several matters related to the prohibition during the month of Ramadan, he said, the Satpol PP will be carried out in collaboration with officials at the environmental, sub-district, and sub-district levels.
