The First Day Of Ramadan Fasting, Dozens Of Teens In Tangsel Involved In A 'Sarong War' Wrapped In Stone
TANGSEL - On the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, dozens of teenagers were arrested by the police after they were suspected of having a brawl in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang (Tangsel). This young man wrapped the stone in a sheath as a fighting weapon.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pondok Aren Police, Iptu Edi Purwanto, said the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, April 3.
"By dawn, we have secured dozens of young people in 2 sub-districts, namely Jurang Mangu Barat and Pondok Karya," said Edi when confirmed.
Edi explained that the arrest began when his team was on patrol in the area. Upon entering Jurang Mangu and Pondok Karya sub-districts, South Tangerang, officers found dozens of young people fighting.
When arrested, the police also found evidence such as stones wrapped in sarongs to sharp weapons (sajam) type of machete.
"The evidence is a knife and a sheathed stone, while in the Pondok Karya sub-district we found evidence of stone wrapped in a sarong," he said.
Now dozens of teenagers are being detained at the Pondok Aren Police Station for further examination.
"On average, all of them are underage, after we collect data from us, we will return them to their parents for guidance," he said.
