Chasing Drug Dealers To South Sumatra, Central Jakarta Police Secure 20.9 Kg Of Methamphetamine In Sound System

JAKARTA - A total of 20.9 kilograms of methamphetamine were successfully confiscated by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit from the hands of five major drug dealers.

"We have secured five suspects in the Avanza, we arrested them in the Terpeka Rest Area KM 269, Mesuji, South Sumatra", said Head of the Drugs Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Commissioner Indrawienny Panjiyoga, Wednesday, March 30.

Commissioner Panjiyoga said that the evidence that was successfully secured was in the form of methamphetamine weighing 20.9 kg, one car, and 6 mobile phones. To avoid officers' suspicions, the perpetrators stored the drugs behind the car's sound system.

"20 packs of methamphetamine were secured, we weighed a total of 20.9 kg. The narcotics were hidden behind the sound system", he said.

The arrests stemmed from previous disclosures made by the Central Jakarta Narcotics Unit. He said that after the disclosure, his party carried out an analysis, so that information was found on the existence of goods to be sent from South Sumatra to Jakarta.

"Therefore, we conducted an investigation, sent members to conduct investigations in the South Sumatra and Lampung regions, and we found the network was traveling to the Lampung region", he said.

From this disclosure, the shabu evidence is worth 30 billion. As many as 100 thousand people were rescued by the police.
