An Earthquake Occurred In Kendari 5.2 M At 20.16 WIB, No Tsunami Potential

JAKARTA - An earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude (M) rocked Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra). However, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) reported that the earthquake did not have the potential for a tsunami.

According to the BMKG statement, the earthquake occurred at 20.16 WIB, Saturday, March 26. The epicenter of the earthquake was reported to be at sea.

"Earthquake Mag: 5.2, March 26, 2022," wrote the BMKG in its official account.

The earthquake was reported at a depth of 27 kilometers northeast of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. The point of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

"No potential for a tsunami," wrote the BMKG

The location of the earthquake is said to be at 3.83 south latitude, 122.69 east longitude.
