Cardano Development Team Improves Plutus Smart-Contract

JAKARTA – Cardano (ADA) crypto proof-of-stake (PoS), which was founded based on peer-reviewed research, is reported to have successfully implemented improvements to the Plutus smart-contract platform. This is part of an ongoing optimization carried out by the company behind Cardano, Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK).

Reporting from DailyHodl, IOHK said on Twitter that the limit of script memory units per Plutus block has increased from 56 million to 62 million.

“This incremental adjustment is the latest in a series of ongoing optimizations and network capacity enhancements currently underway as Cardano continues to expand in 2022 for future growth,” the ADA developers wrote.

“Once implemented, we will monitor closely for at least one period (5 days) before assessing any further adjustments. Continuous observation & orientation guided by real-world usage is key to safely & securely increase Cardano's capacity to keep pace with the evolving ecosystem,” added IOHK.

They described the potential for increased traffic on the blockchain in the next few weeks. The increase was driven by the inclusion of various decentralized finance or DeFi projects on the Cardano network.

“With the arrival of many new [decentralized finance] projects on Cardano over the next few weeks and months, users should expect high volumes of network traffic. This may be significant at peak times around launch and major declines in [non-fungible tokens].”

This condition is considered to cause delays in processing transactions on the Cardano network. IOHK notes the Cardano network will continue to be improved.

“While users sometimes experience delays in transactions being made, the Cardano network has been designed to operate securely at high loads & throughput will continue to increase as the network continues to be optimized.”

For your information, Cardano (ADA) was founded by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson in 2015. In 2017, ADA was officially launched. Currently, Cardano is included in the ranks of cryptocurrencies that have earned the nickname “Ethereum killer” along with Solana.
