Roby Satria, Geisha Guitarist, Difficult To Go To Restorative Justice Because He's Been Involved In The Same Case Twice

JAKARTA - Head of the South Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Satres AKBP Achmad Akbar said that he was continuing the case that ensnared Roby Satria for trial.

This happened because the investigation team refused to take a restorative justice mechanism, because the guitarist for the Geisha band had done it more than twice.

"We from the investigative team do not take a restorative justice mechanism. However, we will continue the case to trial," Achmad told reporters at the Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday, March 23.

"One of the considerations is because of the repetition of the actions in question," he added.

Regarding the application from the perpetrator's family for rehabilitation, Akbar said the police could only accommodate competent people.

"We, as investigators, are limited to accommodating or submitting the assessment to the concerned or competent department. Rehabilitation can also be part of the trial judge's decision." he said.

Previously, it was reported that the police were investigating the punishment for the guitarist of the Geisha band, Roby Satria, who was arrested for marijuana.

"We are still exploring the extent of the recidivist level in question, while we are looking for what the previous verdict was like," Akbar told reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Monday, March 21.

However, Akbar said that the perpetrators had the right to rehabilitate. Therefore, he is reluctant to speculate whether Roby will have his prison sentence increased.
