Investigating Alleged Corruption In Formula E, KPK Opens Opportunity To Summon Anies Baswedan
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has the opportunity to summon related parties to investigate allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Formula E racing event.
"In principle, we will call anyone for questioning and clarification as long as it is needed in the process of collecting information, which we continue to do," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri in a written statement, Wednesday, March 23.
At that time, Ali Fikri was asked whether Anies' information could also be needed by the KPK to clarify this issue or not.
Ali said investigators would certainly summon parties deemed necessary for questioning. So, anyone who will be asked for information is expected to be cooperative in attending.
In addition to attending, they were asked to convey existing information and data. Thus, the allegations of corruption in Formula E that are at this stage of the investigation are becoming clearer.
"We hope that the parties who have been summoned can be cooperative and present the information they know about this case in front of the investigative team," he said.
Previously reported, Regional Representative Council (DPRD) chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi reminded the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to be transparent in its efforts to investigate allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Formula E racing event.

Moreover, until now, the KPK has not summoned DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan for questioning. In fact, Anies is considered important to study the Governor's Instruction Number 77 of 2019 concerning Support in Preparation for the Implementation of Formula E Activities in 2020.
As for the contents of the instruction, Anies asked that funding for support for the implementation of Formula E be charged to the Youth and Sports Office's Budget Implementation Document (DPA) for the 2019 Fiscal Year.
"I appeal to the KPK to be transparent and accountable for this Formula E issue," Prasetyo told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 22.
For information, there are a number of officials who have been summoned to investigate the alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E.
