Passengers Who Fell Into The Sea In Kolaka Found Safe
KENDARI - Basarnas Kendari stated that the passenger of the ship named Tuo (30) who was previously reported to have fallen while sailing from Bajoe Port, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, to Kolaka Port, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, was found safe.
"At 14.30 WITA the joint SAR team received a report from the Kolaka Police that the victim had been found safe by residents around the Red River in Kolaka Regency," said Head of Kendari Basarnas Aris Sofingi as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 22.
Aris conveyed that the victims recorded as residents of Jalan Kakatua, Benua-benua Village, Kendari City were then handed over to the Port Health Office for further treatment.
Previously, on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 15.00 WITA KMP Mishima departed from Bajoe Port, Bone to Kolaka Port, traveling about 3 NM from Kolaka Port, the crew received a report from one of the passengers who said a passenger had fallen into the sea.
Based on the report, KMP Mishima then conducted a search around the location of the victim's fall, but until the incident was reported to Basarnas the victim had not been found.
The search for victims on the second day was carried out by dividing four teams including Team 1 using RIB to conduct a search around the location of the victim's fall with a search area of 0.12 nautical miles square.
Team 2 using a speedboat conducted a sweep to the north of the location of the victim's fall with a search area of 0.14 nautical miles square.
Then Team 3 using a lifeboat conducted a search to the east of the location of the victim's fall with a search area of 0.11 square nautical miles.
Meanwhile, Team 4 by using a lifeboat conducted a sweep to the south of the location of the victim's fall with a search area of 0.11 nautical miles square.
"Today's search for victims was carried out with personnel from the Kolaka Police, Syahbandar Kolaka, the Kolaka Navy Post and the Mishima KMP crew," he said.
