After Watching MotoGP At The Mandalika Circuit, Jokowi Immediately Attends The 144th Session Of The IPU In Bali
NUSA DUA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has his agenda on Sunday, March 20. After watching the MotoGP race live at the Mandalika Circuit, Jokowi immediately left for Bali.
The President attended the 144th Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) Nusa Dua, Bali. This number one person in Indonesia opened the activity which lasted for 4 days, from March 20 to 24.
Jokowi, who was accompanied by the Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, arrived at the BICC Mangupura Room at around 19.30 WITA. Dressed in a black suit and pants and a red tie, the president met face-to-face with around 1,000 delegates from 115 countries.
Both of them took the time to greet the media crew covering the event and the delegates waiting for the President to arrive, as reported by Antara.

In the opening ceremony, the President is scheduled to press the button to mark the official start of the 144th IPU Session and give a speech afterward.
Not only the President of the Republic of Indonesia, but the opening ceremony of the 144th Session of the IPU was also attended by several state officials, including the Chief Justice of the Indonesian Constitutional Court, Anwar Usman, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi.
The opening ceremony will be filled with remarks from President Jokowi, President of IPU Duarte Pacheco, and Puan Maharani. Then there was also a speech from the Chairman of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres.
Indonesia is hosting the IPU's annual session for the first time. The IPU is a cross-border inter-parliamentary collaboration that is the second-largest democratic forum in the world after the United Nations.
This year, the IPU session focused on climate issues, gender equality, youth in politics, and the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine.
