JAKARTA - The challenge made by Aprilia racer Aleix Espargaro to Indonesian netizens has been successfully achieved. His wish to have one million followers came true in less than three days.

Previously, Espargaro had expressed his desire to have one million Instagram followers. He wants that target to be achieved while he is in Indonesia to carry out the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP.

His wish came true. Espargaro didn't want to break his promise either. He will fulfill his vow to throw his helmet on the last day of the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP.

This was revealed by Espargaro through his Twitter account. In a tweet on Friday, March 18 afternoon, the Spaniard replied to a tweet from a netizen who reported that he had followed the driver's Instagram.

Responding to the netizen's report, Espargaro immediately replied and will keep his promise. Because in the screenshot that was also shared by netizens, it can be seen that the number of Espargaro's followers has reached one million.

"My racing helmet will stay in Indonesia then!" wrote Espargaro.

Despite the good intentions of Espargaro who will fulfill his vow of throwing a helmet, his performance in free practice which took place on Friday was still less than satisfactory.

In the first free practice, Espargaro was in sixth position after completing a full lap with a time of 1 minute 34.25 seconds. While in the second free practice in the afternoon, Espargaro's position slipped to seventh. In fact, the record time is both 1 minute 34.25 seconds.
