Manchester United Manager Candidates Increase Again, Thomas Tuchel Becomes Top Priority

JAKARTA - Manchester United is still hunting for a potential replacement manager for Ralf Rangnick, whose contract will expire. Rows of names have come to the fore.

Recently, there are two names of coaches from Spain who are included in the list. The first name is Julen Lopetegui, the coach who is now in charge of Sevilla.

Since leading Sevilla in 2019, the former Spain and Real Madrid coach has been able to show performances that deserve appreciation. One of them is to bring the Andalusian club to win the 2020 Europa League.

Another name is Luis Enrique, the current coach of the Spanish national team. Although he has not been able to show good results with La Furia Roja, Enrique is considered to have the capacity to occupy the position of MU manager.

These two names add to the competition in the race for the seat which is now filled by Rangnick. Previously appeared the names Mauricio Pochettino (Paris Saint-Germain), Erik ten Hag (Ajax Amsterdam), Zinedine Zidane (without a club) and Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea).

This last name only surfaced after Chelsea was hit by turmoil due to the freezing of the owner's assets, Roman Abramovich. Even though he has vowed allegiance, Tuchel is believed to have the opportunity to leave.

Reported by Caughtoffside, a source within the United team said, Tuchel may be open to accepting offers.

Tuchel is reportedly United's number one target to become Rangnick's successor. The results of the German manager's "cold hands" have been very visible with the Blues.

Most recently, he surpassed Zidane's achievements in the Champions League competition. He, along with Jupp Heynckes, became the coach with the most wins in the first 50 Champions League games.

Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Lille in the second leg of the Champions League last 16, Thursday, March 17, early morning western Indonesia time. This was the former Paris Saint-Germain coach's 32nd win in his first 50 games in the Champions League.
