KPK Prosecutor Demands Sister Of Former North Lampung Regent 4 Years In Prison
BANDARLAMPUNG - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor has demanded that the younger brother of former North Lampung Regent Agung Ilmu Mangkunegara, Akbar Tandaniria, is accused of corruption in project fees at the PUPR Service of North Lampung Regency with a sentence of four years in prison.
"Demanding the defendant with a prison term of four years in prison," said KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) Ikhsan Fernandinya during a trial at the Class IA Tanjungkarang District Court, Bandarlampung, reported by Antara, Wednesday, March 16.
Former North Lampung Regent Agung Sains Mangkunegara, who was also implicated in the project fee corruption case at the PUPR Service.
Prosecutor Ikhsan continued, in addition to being charged with imprisonment, the defendant was also required to pay a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to two months in prison and to pay state losses of Rp. 3,150 billion.
"From the state losses of IDR 3,150 billion, minus those that have been submitted to the KPK by IDR 1.7 billion," he said.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor said that in reading the indictment, it was related to the payment of the defendant's state losses.
"If the wealth is also insufficient, it will be replaced with a prison term of 10 months," he said again.
In this case, the defendant was proven legally and convincingly in violation of Article 12B or Article 11 of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law No. 31 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption Juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code Juncto Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
Legal counsel for the defendant Sopian Sitepu said that his party was very grateful for the demands given to his client.
According to him, the demands given by the KPK prosecutors are minimal demands.
During the trial, he continued, his party had also submitted all the evidence and also the efforts of his client to try to cover the state losses that his client admitted had received.
"During the trial, the KPK Prosecutor has considered it well so that we know that the defendant's request for Justice collaborator (JC) has been granted and his minimum demands. Once again we appreciate the KPK Prosecutor for the demands that relieve our client," he said.
The defendant Akbar Tandaniria Mangkunegara, who is also the younger brother of the former North Lampung Regent, Agung Sains Mangkunegara, underwent a trial over the case of project fee gratification within the North Lampung Regency Government in 2015-2019.
The total receipt of money from the project fee reached Rp. 1.7 billion. Determination of the suspect against Akbar, because he had received a fee of Rp. 2.3 billion.
