Directorate General Of Immigration Issues 447 VOA Special Tours For Foreign Tourists

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) has issued 447 visas on arrival (VOA) since it was opened on March 7 for tourists from several countries.

"The VOA facility is given to 23 countries that meet criteria, such as high tourism spenders, having easy flight access to Bali, having easy quarantine policies for foreign travelers and countries in the ASEAN region," said Sub-Coordinator of Public Relations of the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Achmad Nur Saleh. quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 15.

On the first day of the opening of the VOA special tourism service, he said, the percentage of users was 4.46 percent of the total foreign nationals (WNA) who entered through the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

Countries that use the facility the most include Australia 76 people, Singapore 64 people, the United States 47 people, the Netherlands 44 people, and Malaysia 39 people. Meanwhile, several monitored countries have not used VOA specifically for tourism, namely Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Brunei Darussalam, Laos, and Cambodia.

There are several factors that can determine the arrival of foreign tourists to Bali by using VOA specifically for tourism. For example, the quarantine policy in the country of origin, the ease of obtaining insurance from the country of origin, and the preferences of tourists.

"The government will continue to monitor the VOA policy specifically for tourism to Bali," he said.

Foreign tourists who come to Bali using VOA specifically for tourism are exempt from quarantine obligations. To get it, they are required to show proof of hotel/accommodation payment for a minimum stay of 4 days, a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, and the results of a swab test.

"In order to get the VOA sticker, foreign tourists simply attach a passport, a ticket to leave the territory of Indonesia, and the documents required by the COVID-19 Task Force," he said.
