Good News From The Indonesian Hockey Team, Victory Against Singapore Opens The Opportunity To Qualify For The Prup Men's AHP Cup 2022 Phase
JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's hockey team opens the opportunity to qualify from the Men's AHP Cup 2022 group phase. The record is that the Red and White squad must win in the next two matches.
In the match which took place at the Bung Karno Hockey Field (GBK), Jakarta, Saturday 12 March, the Indonesian men's hockey team defeated Singapore with a score of 3-2.
Having fallen behind 0-1 in the first half, Daarul Quthni and his friends were able to rise to finally turn things around with two goals from Ahdan Asasi and Ardam.
This victory opens hope to advance to the semifinals. The Red and White Squad is temporarily in third place in the Pool B standings with three points.
Indonesia is under Oman and Bangladesh who occupy the first and second positions with both pocketing three points. However, the two teams have only played one game.
While Indonesia has twice. In the first match, Friday March 11, Indonesia lost badly to Bangladesh with a score of 2-7.
In this event, Indonesia targets to be in the top three in order to qualify for the Men's Hockey Asian Cup or Men's Hockey Asia Cup 2022.
Indonesia will again compete against Oman on Monday 14 March at 16:45 WIB. After Dhaarma Raj's side will face Iran on Thursday 17 March.
Previously, Darul Qutni said apart from Bangladesh, the strongest opponent in Pool B was Oman, who was ranked 26th in the world. "We have to be able to overcome Oman or Bangladesh in order to sit in the top two of Group B to qualify for the semifinals," said Qutni.
Overall, the Men's AHP Cup 2022 will be attended by nine countries. Four other countries joined in Pool A, namely Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
