IBL Can Be Attended By Spectators Starting March 12, Capacity Remains Limited

JAKARTA - The continuation of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) can be attended by spectators starting Saturday, March 12 tomorrow. However, the number of spectators present is still limited.

IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsyah said that prospective spectators could already buy tickets online for the matches that were held from March 12 to 30.

"There is no direct ticket sales in the match area. The maximum time for purchase is D-1 before the match date," Junas said in an official statement.

The organizers prepare different ticket prices for matches held on weekdays and weekends. Ticket prices for weekdays are pegged at IDR 30 thousand, while for weekends they are priced at IDR 35 thousand per game.

In addition, IBL also stipulates other conditions for potential viewers aged 6-12 years. Viewers in that age range are required to have received a full dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, children aged 6 years and under, elderly over 65 years, individuals with congenital diseases (comorbid), pregnant and lactating mothers, are not allowed to watch the match live.

"Situations and regulations for audience attendance may change at any time following applicable government regulations," said Junas.

The IBL follow-up competition has been held since March 3 in a bubble in Jakarta. However, at that time the organizers decided not to present the audience while following the development of the pandemic case.

Later this week, the government issued a policy to relax COVID-19 rules regarding sports that are already allowed to be attended by spectators. However, with the condition that spectators who wish to attend sporting events must have received the third dose of vaccine.

The allowed audience capacity is also in accordance with the PPKM level of each region. The details are 25 percent for level 4, 50 percent for level 3. 75 percent for level 2, and 100 percent for level 1.
