Beware, Motorcycle Thieves In Mosques Or Musala In Action When Congregants Have Started Prayer

JAKARTA - The theft of a motorbike was caught on a CCTV camera in front of the Musala Darussalam, RT 03/03, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Wednesday, March 9, at night. The perpetrator carried out the action while the congregation was performing the Isha prayer.

In CCTV footage, the perpetrator alone observed the situation before carrying out the motorcycle theft. After the situation was deemed safe, the perpetrators launched an act of stealing an automatic motorbike that was in front of the prayer room. As a result, the motorbike targeted by the perpetrators was successfully taken away.

According to Iskandar, a local resident, the theft of a motorbike occurred when the congregation was carrying out the Isha prayer.

"I'm doing the Isha prayer. If you see from the CCTV, one person is on foot," Iskandar told reporters, Thursday, March 10.

Iskandar said the previous perpetrator had been pacing around the prayer room to see the situation.

In fact, the perpetrator had time to observe at the congregation entrance area, to determine whether they had started praying or not. So that there are no more congregants going back and forth outside the prayer room.

"From behind the prayer room, he went straight to the targeted motorbike, but before that he checked the door to see if the congregation had started (praying) or not," he said.

When the congregation performed the Isha prayer, the perpetrator took advantage of this moment to steal a motorbike parked around the prayer room.

"After the situation was safe, there was no one outside, everyone inside was praying, he took the key or something, he went straight to the motorbike and took him away," he said.

It is suspected that the perpetrators broke into the ignition of the automatic motorbike using the letter T key. Within seconds, the motorbike belonging to one congregation was stolen.
