Kemenparekraf-Kemenparekraf Team Monitors Quarantine-Free Foreign Tourists In Bali
DENPASAR - A team from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment together with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy went directly to Bali to monitor the implementation of the quarantine-free policy and Visa on Arrival (VoA) for foreign travellers.
"This monitoring aims to ensure that the quarantine-free policy and VoA can be implemented properly in accordance with the established mechanism and can still provide comfort for foreign travellers (PPLN)," said Special Staff for Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Firman Hidayat in Denpasar, Bali as reported by Antara, Wednesday, March 9th.
The monitoring team was led by the Special Staff for International Relations and International Agreements at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Firman Hidayat. Meanwhile, from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Deputy for Strategic Policy Nia Niscaya and the Expert Staff of the Minister for Bureaucracy and Regulation Kurlina Ukar participated.
The monitoring carried out began with monitoring the flow of PPLN arrivals at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. Next, the team held a coordination meeting in the Bali Province BPBD Pusdalops meeting room
"It is important to note that the purpose of implementing these two policies, namely to restore Bali tourism can be achieved. However, his party hopes that the mechanisms needed to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 must still be optimally implemented by all parties," he said.
The Deputy for Strategic Policy at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya, said the same thing. His party really hopes for the support of all components so that PPLN can feel comfortable when following the flow at the international arrival gate of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
For this reason, he wants to hear the readiness of various components related to the implementation of free quarantine and VoA for PPLN from 23 countries.
In response to this, Bali BPBD Chief Executive Made Rentin emphasized that the Bali Provincial Government is committed to safeguarding trust from the center through these two special policies.
Rentin who currently also serves as Plt. The Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office said that this decision came after a long process. "This is a process, not a decision that suddenly seems to fall from the sky," he said.
In guarding this policy, one that has received serious attention from the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster is the acceleration of the 3rd stage of COVID-19 vaccination (booster) which is expected to reach the 30 percent target soon.
In addition to accelerating booster vaccination, his party also pays attention to various matters relating to the management of PPLN arrivals such as laboratory readiness, transportation management from the airport to hotels to the adequacy of hotels that have been certified CHSE.
The Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative for the Province of Bali, Trisno Nugroho, who was also present at the coordination meeting, assessed that the policy that will take effect from March 7, 2022, needs to be accompanied by promotional efforts.
"Every country that relies on the tourism sector must take promotional steps. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy can start intensively promoting to convince tourists to visit Bali. We hope that Bali's economy can recover soon and there will be no prolonged recession," he said.
