Hero Tito's promoter and manager, Armin Tan, had said that the 35-year-old boxer had brain swelling and had undergone surgery at Mitra Keluarga Hospital Kelapa Gading, Jakarta.
"Hero Tito has been hospitalized for three days. His current condition has not improved and is critical after his brain developed swelling. The operation has been carried out since the first day of treatment. The family in Malang is already in Jakarta and temporarily staying at my house," said Armin Tan to reporters, Tuesday.
Hero Tito faces off against James Mokoginta for the vacant title at the Indonesian Boxing Association (ATI) lightweight (61.2kg). Unfortunately, in the 10-round match, Hero Tito was hit hard and fell down in the seventh round.
The boxer from Malang could not continue the match. The defeat was the 17th in his professional career.
