Long Weekend Isra Mikraj, KAI Serves 469,491 Customers' Travel, KA Airlangga Destination Surabaya One Of The Favorites
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) served 469,491 train customers during the Isra Mikraj long weekend period, with an average of 117,373 customers per day. The peak of customer volume during the Isra Mikraj long weekend period occurred on Monday, February 28, with a record of 134,121 subscribers.
KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that the number of customers served increased 36 percent, compared to the previous week's 345,367 customers.
"For the period 25 to 28 February 2022, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) served 469,491 train customers or an average of 117,373 customers per day. The details are 220,093 long-distance trains and 249,398 local trains," he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, March 1st.
Joni said to accommodate the increasing volume of customers, the total number of long-distance and local train trips operated was 1,627 train trips or an average of 382 train trips per day. This number increased by 1 percent compared to the previous week, which was 1,514 train trips or an average of 379 train trips per day.
"The increase in the number of customers during the Isra Mikraj long weekend is accompanied by services that are running well. We also continue to implement strict health protocols," he said.
KAI, continued Joni, consistently implements health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through rail transportation.
"KAI ensures that only customers who really meet the requirements are allowed to go by train on the Isra Mikraj long weekend holiday in accordance with government regulations," he said.
Joni explained that the public favorite trains during the Isra Mikraj long weekend were the Airlangga KA (Pasarsenen - Surabaya Pasarturi pp), the Sri Tanjung KA (Lempuyangan - Ketapang pp), and the Wijayakusuma KA (Cilacap - Ketapang pp), and others.
The total number of customers who were rejected from leaving for the period 25 to 28 February 2022 were 1,411 customers. The details are 45 customers who have not vaccinated, 3 customers are sick, and 1,363 customers are reactive/positive.
