Strike Trade, Jakarta Provincial Government Prepares 130 Tons Of Frozen Beef
JAKARTA - A number of meat traders in Jakarta went on strike to sell meat for five days from February 28 to March 4, 2022. The strike was due to an increase in imported beef and meat at slaughterhouses.
Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government through Perumda Dharma Jaya provides a stock of 130 frozen saliens. This provision is made to help the community provide affordable meat options for their daily needs.
"Dharma Jaya has a stock of 130 tons of frozen beef," said Director of Perumda Dharma Jaya, Raditya Endra Budiman in his statement, Tuesday, March 1.
Raditya said that the price of meat provided was still below the market price, starting from IDR 115 thousand to IDR 130 thousand per kilogram, depending on the type of meat. However, this low price does not apply to special meats such as shortplate, sirloin angus, sirloin steak cutting, and teriyaki slice.
Then, the public can buy meat at the Dharma Jaya Meat Shop by coming directly to the Dharma Jaya Perumda Office on Penggilingan Raya Street, Penggilingan, Cakung, East Jakarta, or online at the marketplace with the name Dharma Jaya Meat Shop official store.
"Residents need not worry, Dharma Jaya will continue to ensure the supply of cheaper meat as an option for the people of Jakarta," he said.
On this occasion, Raditya admitted that frozen meat has not become the main choice for consumption by the Indonesian people. In fact, according to him, frozen meat can be a substitute for fresh meat consumption.

In fact, he continued, frozen meat is healthier for consumption than fresh meat. Because the freezing process can prevent the growth of germs or bacteria on the meat. In addition, the nutritional content of frozen meat lasts longer than fresh meat.
“Meat spoils quickly. Raw meat that is left stored at ordinary temperatures without refrigeration for more than six hours, it will smell bad," he explained.
Furthermore, Raditya stated, Perumda Dharma Jaya is ready if asked to hold a low-cost market operation to reduce price fluctuations that occur in the community.
