Former Police Persecution Of Civilians In Cengkareng Becomes Suspect, Officers Can't Hold It Because They Are Cooperative
JAKARTA - WN, a former member of the National Police who is suspected of having abused the victim YS on Jalan Kapuk RT 15/12, Kapuk Village, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta was not detained by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police. This is because the perpetrators are considered cooperative.
"The perpetrators were not detained because they were cooperative. They did not run away, they did not destroy evidence," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police, AKP Rahmad, Sunday, February 27.
Although MN has been named a suspect, the Cengkareng Police investigators did not arrest WN. However, the Kanit ensured that the process of handling cases against MN had no problems, everything went according to procedure.
"The file has been sent to the prosecutor. Just waiting for P21. There are no problems," he said.
AKP Rahmad confirmed that the alleged perpetrators of the persecution were not members of the National Police but ordinary citizens.
"Not an individual, it's been a long time. It's been a civilian," he said.
The legal process against the perpetrators is still waiting for P21 at the Prosecutor's Office.
"The file has been sent, there are no problems at all. (Regarding the application of the persecution) It will be up to the prosecutor to decide, not us," he said.
Previously, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police had named WN, a former member of the National Police as a suspect in the case of mistreatment of YS on Jalan Kapuk RT 15/12, Kapuk Village, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta.
Although named a suspect, Cengkareng Police investigators did not detain WN.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police, AKP Rahmad, said that if the victim was seriously injured or died, then his party would detain the former member of the Penjaringan Metro Police.
"Now the police are working, the investigation of the suspect is left with the filing, there are no problems, they just don't like that person, the victim," said AKP Rahmad.
Because the filing is almost complete, the investigators plan to send the files to the West Jakarta District Attorney.
"The case is over, if you say the former policeman has been around for a long time. Now it's civil, tomorrow I'll send the file, it's finished, there's no problem," he said.
