West Pasaman Regency Government Sets 14 Day Earthquake Emergency Response Period

PASAMAN BARAT - The government of West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, has set a 14-day earthquake emergency response period from February 24 to March 10, 2022.

West Pasaman Regent Hamsuardi said he had issued a Decree from the West Pasaman Regent regarding the Earthquake Emergency Response Period. During the emergency response period, his party will take steps to deal with the impact of the earthquake.

Such as, a quick and precise assessment of the location and resources, making planning and disaster management steps according to the applicable regulations.

"And make plans for spending needs and sources of funds," said Hamsuardi at Simpang Empat, Antara, Friday, February 25.

His party has also established the main refugee camps in the regent's office yard and a number of locations in Kajai Talamau.

Until Friday night, residents in Kajai, Talamau District, set up emergency tents outside their homes. Residents are still afraid of aftershocks and knocking down houses.

Meanwhile, the West Pasaman Regency Government, PMI, TNI and Polri as well as volunteers continue to provide energy assistance for evacuation and distributing food aid.

Temporary data on the impact of the earthquake in West Pasaman killed four people, seriously injured 19 people, moderately injured seven people and lightly injured 36 people. Around 5,000 buildings were damaged, 10,000 displaced people, 35 refugee points and centered in the yard of the local regent's office.
