110 Thousand Dose Of Bengkulu COVID-19 Vaccine Expires Next Week

BENGKULU - Bengkulu Provincial Health Office Head Herwan Antoni said around 110.000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine stock in Bengkulu will expire in the next week.

"A total of 110.000 doses of vaccine in Bengkulu Province will expire in the next week," said Herwan, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 25.

Herwan said the delivery range of COVID-19 vaccine supplies from the Ministry of Health to Bengkulu Province which was too close made vaccine supplies pile up.

He gave an example, Bengkulu Province again received a supply of vaccines on February 10, 2022, after receiving a vaccine shipment on January 29, 2022.

In order to minimize the stock of vaccines that expire before they are used, the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office has asked the relevant government agencies to help in quickly depleting vaccine supplies that are nearing expiry by activating vaccination services.

"Don't let us be evaluated by the center because of the high vaccine expiration date," said Herwan.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, the total target for COVID-19 vaccination in Bengkulu Province is 1.553.792 people and as of February 25, 2022, around 77 percent of the target (1.205.880 people) have received the first dose of vaccination.

While the second dose of vaccination was recorded to have been carried out on 897.202 people or about 57 percent of the target, and the third dose of vaccination was only given to 42.364 people or about two percent of the target.
