AGO Checks Garuda Indonesia's Finance Officer
JAKARTA - Investigators of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office examined the finance officer of PT Garuda Indonesia with the initials INC, VP Financial Accounting, as a witness in the investigation into the alleged corruption case at the state-owned airline.
"INC as VP Financial Accounting of PT Garuda Indonesia is being investigated regarding the aircraft procurement mechanism," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 23.
In addition, the Attorney General's Office examined the Vice President of Financial Accounting at PT Garuda Indonesia, investigators examined two other witnesses, namely the former Executive Vice President of Garuda Indonesia Finance (EVP Finance) with the initials AMTM.
The third witness, Plh. PT Garuda's VP of Legal initials RH. Both of them were examined related to the aircraft procurement mechanism.
Previously, Tuesday, February 22, Jampidsus investigators examined five witnesses, namely NA as Senior Manager Head Office Accounting of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2012, IR as Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2014, and ATS as Director of Commerce of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2016.
Furthermore, NS as Director of Marketing and Information Technology of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2017 and NPL as Director of Services of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2018.
The five examined are still related to the aircraft procurement mechanism.
"This witness examination is to provide information for the purpose of investigating a criminal case in order to find legal facts about the corruption that occurred," said Leonard.
A number of witnesses have been examined in this case, including high-ranking officials from Garuda Indonesia, such as Chairal Tanjung as Commissioner of Garuda Indonesia and Peter Gontha, former Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia.
The Attorney General's Office has raised the status of the alleged corruption case against PT Garuda Indonesia to the public investigation stage on Wednesday, January 19.
Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said the investigation would progress, not only about the ATR 72-600, but also related to the procurement of Bombardier, Airbus, Boeing and Rolls Royce.
