COVID-19 Update As Of February 20: 48,484 New Cases, 536,258 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 434,535 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 48,484 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,197,505 people and active cases have increased by 15,448 to 536,358 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Today's recovered cases increased by 32,873 cases, bringing the total to 4,514,782 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 163 people and the total was 146,365 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 10,410 cases and a total of 923,922 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 8,136 new cases with a total of 1,129,667 cases. East Java has 5,766 new cases and a total of 490,857 cases. Central Java has 4,282 new cases and a total of 539,440 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 12,300 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 5,480 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 4,133 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 2,895 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 81,003,675.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 17.42 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 24,900 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 189,646,917 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 140,301,087 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 8,456,612. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
