Pineapple Grenade Found In Waterway Residents Of Kramat Jati
JAKARTA - Residents of Jalan Batu Bulat III, RT 18/05, Batu Ampar Village, Kramat Jati Subdistrict, East Jakarta were shocked by the discovery of an active grenade in a residential waterway, Friday, February 18, afternoon.
The secretary of RT 18/05, Agus Suryanto (49) said the pineapple grenade was first discovered by officers from the Water Resources Sub-Department (SDA) of Kramat Jati Sub-district while cleaning waterways.
"At approximately 1:45 pm I got a call from Mrs. RW that the SDA officer who was cleaning the river found a grenade," Agus told reporters at the location, Friday, February 18.
Agus said, after the grenade was found, his party immediately coordinated with Bhabinkamtibmas, then forwarded it to the police.
Not long after, the Gegana Polda Metro Jaya Team arrived at the location and immediately secured the grenade. Agus said, when secured, the condition of the grenade safety pin was broken.
"The officers also quickly taped the tape so that the pin was secure. The pin happened to be broken in the form of a ring, but we couldn't find it," he said.
Agus admitted that this was the first time a grenade had been found in his neighborhood, so it shocked the local residents.
"Residents are only surprised if they are not worried," he said.
