Ganjar Pranowo Sentil Karanganyar Regent Who Says COVID-19 Doesn't Exist

SEMARANG - Karanganyar Regent, Juliyatmono, suddenly went viral. His speech, which asked the public not to care about COVID-19 and assume that Omicron does not exist, was taken seriously by many parties.

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, also commented on this matter. He asked all parties to care and to obey health protocols.

"I think you have to care. (There is no omicron) how, there is another death rate, although not too much. Hospitals are also starting to fill up. So everyone should care about that," said Ganjar while reviewing vaccinations at the Tentrem Mall Semarang, Wednesday 16 February.

Ganjar said he had not received any information from Juliyatmono regarding the viral video. He also has not communicated directly.

Asked whether to reprimand and impose sanctions on Juliyatmono, Ganjar was reluctant to answer.

"Yes, if later the community becomes undisciplined, we will arrange everything. The point is we have to care. We can't help it, we have to obey health protocols," he said.

Central Java Boosts Vaccination

Meanwhile, while reviewing vaccinations at Tentrem Mall, Ganjar asked for the vaccination program to continue to be boosted. Acceleration must be done in all lines, whether the first dose of vaccination, second dose or booster vaccination.

"Moreover, at this time omicron is increasing, so my friends ask for vaccinations, especially for the elderly and children," he said.

Ganjar also asked that the policies that have been taken by the center should be implemented in the regions as well as possible. He asked the complaint booths to be re-opened so that a quick response could be given. Education and socialization of health protocols should also not be stopped.

"Everyone must have awareness, wearing a mask is mandatory, if there is a crowd, avoid it and so on.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Java Provincial Health Office, Yunita Dyah Suminar said that the vaccination achievement in Central Java had reached 90.22 percent for the first dose. While the second dose reached 71.83 percent and the third dose or booster vaccination only reached 3.54 percent.
