Good News For The Riau People, Vehicle Transfer Fees Will Be Free

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission III of the Riau Province DPRD, Husaimi Hamidi, said that his party had ratified the revision of the Regional Regulation on Regional Taxes, so it was just a matter of waiting for the Governor's Regulation to be issued which regulates the technical implementation of the regulation, one of which is the free transfer of vehicle fees.

"This effort is made to increase local revenue," said Husaimi in Pekanbaru, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, February 15.

In order to pursue income derived from vehicle taxes, the Riau DPRD has revised the Tax Regulation in which it regulates transfer fees which are free of charge.

"This is so that the people of Riau and businessmen in Riau want to change their names, vehicle license plates from non-BM (Riau area) to become BM plates, thus the tax will be paid to the regions," said Husaimi Hamidi.

Husaimi said that many types of large company trucks operating in Riau use Riau outer plates so that with this regulation there is no longer any reason for them not to attempt to change their name.

"We have made it easier for entrepreneurs in Riau to change their license plates to BM plates. There is no longer any reason for them not to want to change their name. So that the tax proceeds go to Riau. Don't just want to take our assets, but don't want to contribute to regional income, " he said.

According to Husaimi, the majority of trucks belonging to large companies are trucks loaded with palm oil (CPO). There is a sizable potential for vehicle taxes from the existence of these trucks, reaching hundreds of billions per year.

"We calculate that for the CPO fleet there are thousands of trucks. One truck is multiplied by Rp. 7 million, I think it is hundreds of billions per year in taxes that come from there," he explained.

According to him, companies investing in Riau must have a positive impact on the regional economy.

For this reason, he urged the Riau Provincial Government to immediately issue a Pergub, so that this regulation is immediately implemented.

"We hope that the Bapenda regulations that we have ratified will be implemented immediately. We will certainly pursue these companies," said Husaimi.
