Floods In Singkawang City Are Getting Higher And Wider

SINGKAWANG - Secretary of the Singkawang BPBD, Urai Yenyen Kitri Tithonia Fijri, said that based on observations, the flooding in Singkawang City is increasing and expanding.

"For the Singkawang Tengah sub-district, for example, the distribution affected by flooding is getting wider," said Urai in Singkawang, as reported by Antara, Sunday, February 13.

According to him, the water level starts from the ankles and even almost reaches the waist of an adult.

"Such as Hansip Street, Uray Dahlan M Suka Street, A Kadir Kasim Street, Education Gang 5 and its surroundings," he said.

Then, Idi M Sholeh Gang, H Talib Street, Karya Bhakti Gang and its surroundings. Furthermore, Jalan RDKS, Valley Murai, Jalan Pramuka and its surroundings. In addition, Jalan Nusantara, Jalan Rawasari, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Suhada and its surroundings. Currently, hundreds of flood victims have been evacuated to the Condong Village Hall and BLKI.

"As in the Condong Hall, there were 83 people, consisting of 43 men and 40 women. Two babies were found from these dozens of people," he said.

Meanwhile, at the Harmoni Shelter (BLKI), 41 people were evacuated. There are 3 babies in this evacuation area. Currently, his party has prepared a public kitchen for the needs of flood victims.

BPBD Singkawang has distributed 60 kg of rice, 6 liters of cooking oil, 10 boxes of instant noodles, 10 boxes of mineral water, 2 packs of eggs and 24 cans of large sardines.

"Then 3 sets of baby equipment, 2 sets of children's games, 3 sets of clothing for adults," he said.
