5 Bandung Entrance Toll Gates Will Close On Weekend, West Java Police Prepared Scheme

SUKABUMI - The Governor of West Java, M Ridwan Kamil, handed over to the police to determine the best scheme related to closing five toll gates in the city of Bandung.

"I leave that entirely to the police in determining the scheme because the route for the Omicron in West Java is from Bandung City, the capital city of West Java. The route is from Cipularang", said Ridwan Kamil in Sukabumi as reported by Antara on Thursday, February 10.

The five toll gates that are planned to be closed at the weekend are Pasteur, Kopo, Pasir Koja, Mohammad Toha, and Buah Batu toll gates.

The governor assessed that many tourists choose to travel to Bandung because they do not need to use an airplane. Therefore, hotel managers in Bandung must conduct rigorous random testing of their employees to ensure that tourists who come are in good health.

"When it comes to picnics, many people choose to go to Bandung because it's a hassle (provided) to take a plane. Therefore, I ordered random tests to be carried out, especially for hotel employees, because potential (cases) were possible initially from lodging places", he said.

"If there are not many cases at the hotel, it means that the hotel has carried out procedures properly. But if many hotel employees have been affected (COVID-19) it means that there are procedures that are not good", he said.

Currently, the spike in COVID-19 cases in Bandung is increasing by 80 percent.

Kang Emil left a message to several areas with low cases to continue to tighten the application of health protocols, also in the use of the Pedulilindungi application.

"Even though cases are low, don't be careless, especially in tourist destinations. Be aware of the possibility of guests from Jabodetabek carrying the virus. Therefore, care for protection and the use of masks must be reminded often", he said.
