Kediri City Government Guarantees No Lack Of Oxygen Stock
JAKARTA - The Government of Kediri City, East Java, inspected the PT Samator Gas Industri Branch Office in Manisrenggo Village, Kediri City, ensuring that the oxygen stock for medical use was sufficient, anticipating a drastic increase in patients exposed to COVID-19.
Head of the Department of Trade and Industry of the City of Kediri, Tanto Wijohari, said that he had communicated with the management of PT Samator Gas Industri in anticipation of a possible spike in oxygen demand.
"Of course we don't want this pandemic situation to get worse. However, it is a shared task to be prepared with all possibilities. Moreover, oxygen is a very essential need," said Tanto in Kediri, Wednesday, February 9, quoted from Antara.
It is in direct coordination with various parties. Currently, the City of Kediri implements the level three Community Activity Restriction Regulation (PPKM).
"We have taken various steps for the City of Kediri, hopefully these efforts can be successful in controlling the spike in COVID-19 cases. If anyone is tested positive, we hope that we will get the best treatment until his condition recovers quickly," said Tanto.
Branch Manager of PT. Samator Gas Industries in Kediri Bambang Dumadi said his party had carried out a thorough evaluation and learned valuable lessons from last year's experience where Samator was unable to serve the high demand for oxygen. Even at that time, every day a row of vehicles filled the queue for oxygen filling.
"Now we have a liquid oxygen storage tank with a larger capacity. So, the distribution of liquid oxygen supply to the subscribed hospitals in Kediri City and its surroundings can be carried out more efficiently," said Bambang.
Furthermore, he said efforts were also made to improve the capacity of filling oxygen gas cylinders, which can now be carried out more quickly.
"Essentially, at this time we feel much more prepared than the middle of last year," he said.
Bambang also added, during the last few weeks there has been no increase in demand for medical oxygen from customers, both hospitals, the general public or other customers. Requests are still normal.
PPKM Kediri City status is at level three. The City Government has also prepared several preventive measures, such as re-activating the centralized isolation of Kediri City, increasing hospital bed capacity, ensuring the availability of drugs and oxygen, as well as accelerating vaccinations including the third dose or booster for COVID-19.
