North Maluku Police Detains 2 Suspects In The Sula Islands Irrigation Work Corruption Case, One Of Them Is A Member Of The DPRD
MALUT - The investigation team of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the North Maluku Police has detained two more suspects in the alleged criminal act of corruption in irrigation works in Kaporo Village, Sula Islands Regency.
"The two suspects who were detained, namely Razak Karim alias Razak as the Director of PT Amarta Maha Karya, and Fredi Parengkuan as the executor of the workers who currently serves as a member of the Regional House of Representatives for the Sula Islands Regency", said Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Police, Kombes Michael Irwan Thamsil, in Ternate, as quoted by Antara on Tuesday, February 8th.
He said investigators initially detained an individual member of DPRD Fredi Parengkuan since last Friday. Then today, the suspect Razak Karim alias Razak as the Director of PT Amarta Maha Karya was again detained.
"So Fredi Parengkuan is being held at the Ternate Police Headquarters for the next 20 days", said Michael.

He stated that in this case previously investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation Police had named two suspects, namely LK alias Lutfi, the former Head of the PUPRKP Service, Sula who was also the Budget User Proxy (KPA), and the Secretary of the PUPR (Ministry of Public Works and Housing) Service, Masykur, as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK).
The alleged corruption in the misuse of the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of the Sula Islands Regency occurred in 2018 and 2019 with a contract value of IDR 9.79 billion at the Public Works Department of Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas (DPUPRPKP) of Sula Islands Regency which was carried out by PT AMK.
