In Order To Prevent The Spread Of COVID-19, The Government Decides This For The Mandalika MotoGP Event

JAKARTA - The Mandalika 2022 MotoGP agenda will take place on March 18 in Lombok. However, the ever-increasing spread of COVID-19 has forced the government to issue strict decisions to suppress transmission.

The decision was written in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 8 of 2022 concerning the Prevention and Control of Covid-19 at the Mandalika MotoGP.

Signed by the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian and addressed to the Governor of NTB, Zulkieflimansyah and the regents or mayors in the region. The instruction emphasizes that the maximum number of spectators present at the Mandalika Circuit is 100 thousand people.

"Regulate the number of spectators for the implementation of the MotoGP Mandalika at most 100 thousand people with the number of festival class spectators at most 10 percent of the total audience," the instruction reads in a written statement, Saturday, February 5.

In addition, Tito also ordered the governor and local regents or mayors to prepare the NTB Provincial Hospital as the first referral hospital. They were also asked to set up a centralized isolation facility and a PCR test facility.

Then, Tito required the Mandalika MotoGP audience to show proof of the second dose of vaccination and the PeduliLindung application.

"The implementation must also be carried out by implementing strict health protocols and also by optimizing the PeduliLindung application," the instruction continued.
