Close The KKN Gap, PLN Gets KPK To Secure State Assets
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) is collaborating with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to secure state assets that are used by PLN to provide electricity for the community. PLN Main Director Darmawan Prasodjo said that the cooperation between PLN and the KPK has existed since 2019, namely in controlling company assets. By certifying land, this collaboration has also made significant progress so that 67 percent of PLN's assets are now certified.
"With this collaboration and supported by the ministry of BPN/ATR, the process that was once very complex is then dismantled and then summarized and simplified so that the management can run better," said Darmawan in his statement, Saturday, February 5.
According to Darmawan, in a meeting with the KPK leaders and their staff, PLN received input to improve governance, its business processes to be more transparent, credible, efficient and effective so that the room for KKN can be closed.
He mentioned that several collaborations were explored, one of which was improving the planning system and building a digital-based payment system so that previously complicated and complicated processes that were prone to corruption, could be avoided.
This collaboration will support PLN's strategic programs, including the transition of diesel power plants (PLTD) to new renewable energy (EBT) and gas (gasification). Later the KPK will provide assistance from the auction process to business systems and processes.
PLN also continues to collaborate with the KPK to improve the whistle blowing system so that it is more transparent, credible, accountable and still prioritizes confidentiality.
Late last year, with the cooperation of PLN and the KPK, there was already an integration of the database in PLN and the JAGA (Indonesian Corruption Prevention Network) platform in the KPK system. With this, the local government can also monitor the amount of tax receipts through the dashboard in the JAGA application, how much the local government owes to PLN.
With the JAGA application in collaboration with the KPK, the trend of local government arrears has decreased. From the beginning of 2021, which was still Rp. 237 billion, in December 2021 it became Rp. 66 billion.
"The point is, we at PLN are very proud that this PLN is used as a pilot project to prevent corruption from end to end and here is a holistic program from its planning from the budgeting to the auction system, so that the business process will be streamlined, more efficient and more effective," he explained.
Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, welcomed PLN's efforts to improve governance and digitization. According to him, good governance will prevent potential losses to the state.
"The management must be prudent and also not cause state losses," said Ghufron.
Ghufron also ensured that his staff would continue to oversee improvements and efforts to prevent corruption within PLN.
Finally, Ghufron advised PLN to implement clean business practices as a form of responsibility to the public by building an anti-corruption, transparent and fair business climate.
"We hope that PLN also provides education to the public not to behave corruptly by running a clean business, both in terms of service management to the community and its finances," concluded Ghufron.
