Moonfall Movie Review: Magnificent Visuals When The Moon And Earth Are Opposite

JAKARTA - The master of disaster, Roland Emmerich is back with his latest Hollywood film entitled Moonfall. Like other Roland films, Moonfall takes the story of the human world which is threatened by something.

Moonfall focuses on three astronauts on a mission in outer space. The plane they were controlling at that time had hit an object but fortunately their lives survived.

Time after time passed, the astronauts began to separate. Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson) has quit his job, while Jocinda Fowler or Jo (Halle Berry) has become a NASA employee. They found the news that the moon began to go out of orbit towards the earth.

NASA knows this but chooses to cover it up. A conspiracy expert named KC Houseman (John Bradley) wants to contact NASA but continues to fail. Finally Houseman spread the information he got via the internet.

Brian and Jo meet once again, this time they are helped by Houseman who is often underestimated by those around him. The three of them undertake a dangerous mission to save the earth.

The premise of this familiar story does have its own mass. The visuals presented by Moonfall seem to be able to satisfy this desire. The splendor of outer space to the details of Brian cs' spaceship made the audience not look away from the view towards the cinema.

In addition, like other Roland Emmerich stories, Moonfall tries to emphasize the family side that each character has. Unfortunately, this story is not balanced with the mission to the moon that was the focus from the start.

As a result, the family stories that were present only became an insert in the midst of tension that could not make the audience sympathize. This interesting premise makes the audience far more impressed than having to think about how Brian's family, Jo, and others are.

Roland Emmerich is not a new name when it comes to disaster-themed films. Moonfall becomes his playground with all the techniques and incredible CGI.

Despite some of its shortcomings, the Moonfall film has impressive majestic visuals. Supported by good scoring, the experience of watching Moonfall will be even more enjoyable through IMAX.
