Hotel Occupancy In NTB Reaches 54.96 Percent Ahead Of The Mandalika MotoGP
MATARAM - Head of the West Nusa Tenggara Tourism Office, Yusron Hadi, said that hotel and lodging occupancy ahead of the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit reached 54.96 percent.
"To date, our hotel and lodging occupancy has only been filled with 54.96 percent of the 10,000 rooms available," he said in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 3.
Yusron explained, with such an occupancy number, it means that the adequacy of accommodation, especially hotel rooms, both star and non-star and other lodging such as homestays are still available in NTB.
"So don't say it's full of lodging in Lombok. If it's starred, maybe yes, but homestays haven't been filled yet," he said.
According to him, the total availability of rooms from hotels, homestays and camping ground, all of which are prepared to support the world's most prestigious motorcycle racing event, reaches 24,768 rooms.
"This does not include simple rental flats (Rusunawa) which we are also preparing to fill the shortage of 100 thousand spectators.
The plan is to temporarily use 52 unoccupied flats in West Lombok to East Lombok, the potential is up to 262 rooms," said the former Head of the NTB Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service.
Another effort to provide accommodation is a floating hotel facility using four Pelni ships with a capacity of 3,500 rooms per ship. This number does not include the phinisi ships also prepared.
Meanwhile, regarding price regulation, Yusron continued, the provincial government is preparing a governor's regulation (Pergub) as a regulation related to hotel rates. However, of course, his

"The regulation will determine the price based on the location in the regional tourism strategic area zoning," he said.
The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of NTB, HL Gita Ariadi, added that this price-related regulation is more concerned with the sustainability of international events in NTB.
