Army Chief Of Staff Dudung Asks The Young Generation To Have A Spirit Of Innovation And Creativity
JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman asked the younger generation, especially students in Indonesia, to have a spirit of innovation and creativity in order to be able to become quality leaders.
Dudung, while giving a guest lecture at Brawijaya University, in Malang City, East Java, said that students or the younger generation will later replace the position of leaders in Indonesia.
"All future leaders must have imagination, innovation, creativity, including vision and mission and have aspirations and hopes," said Dudung in front of dozens of Universitas Brawijaya students.
Dudung added, these students must have innovation, imagination, and creativity to be able to become quality leaders. The ideals and hopes are expected to be a trigger for the birth of innovation from the young generation.
"If you don't have all of that, later you will become a mediocre leader. Only water is average in the army's language," he said.
He explained that the imagination that a leader must have is being able to have the thinking power to predict challenges and efforts to deal with them. Then, innovation means a leader is able to have new ideas in achieving organizational goals.
Vision and mission, he said again, are goals and ways to achieve the desired goals of a strategic leader and ideals and hopes mean having hope to continue working in an effort to achieve the desired goals.
However, Dudung reminded, even though the younger generation already has a vision and mission, innovation, creativity, and imagination, it must also be accompanied by a good attitude from these young leaders candidates.
"However, it will all be in vain if it is not accompanied by kindness," he also said.
He added, to become a successful leader, there are three main keys that must be applied, especially for the younger generation of Indonesia. The first is forgetting the past, doing the best thing optimally and having to fight for the ideals.
According to him, with the three main keys that can be applied by the younger generation of Indonesia, it is hoped that quality and good leaders will be born for the community. In addition, prospective leaders are also expected not to depend on others.
"The past will not come back, can not be repeated. Then, do your best today optimally and ideals are dreams that must be fought for. Success is full of struggle," he said again.
On that occasion, Dudung also told a number of experiences he went through to the students who were present. These experiences are expected to be an inspiration for the younger generation to become quality leaders.
