President Jokowi: I See There Is Great Potential In The Lake Toba Area
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo observed and inaugurated the arrangement of the Parapat Free Beach Area in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, Wednesday, February 2.
In a press release received from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, the President's presence is to see the revitalization and improvement of facilities to support one of the tourist destinations in the Lake Toba area.
"Today I am also in the Lake Toba area to see if the revitalization and repairs have been going on. I see that there are total improvements so that later the Minister of Tourism can build again, rebrand, differentiate, so that there is a difference between Lake Toba and the destination area. other tours. I see the great potential that exists in this Lake Toba area," said the President.
The President arrived at the Parapat Free Beach Area at around 12.06 WIB and was immediately greeted with boisterousness by the public.
The president was also given a Hio/Suri-Suri slung over his right shoulder and a Gotong worn as a head covering.
Furthermore, the President received a panel explanation from the Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti.
In his statement, President Jokowi also explained that until now in the Parapat Free Beach Area, several facilities have been built to present cultural arts performances to viewing towers to be enjoyed by people who visit Lake Toba.
"Previously there was no place to present cultural arts performances, now there is an amphitheater, there is already an area that people can use to view Lake Toba," said the President.
To note, the work on the arrangement of the Parapat Free Beach Area with a total area of 10,000 square meters cost Rp. 84.1 billion. The work includes the arrangement of the Free Beach Area, the construction of the regional gate, and the arrangement of the Parapat RTP.
The Director General of Human Settlements at the PUPR Ministry Diana Kusumastuti hopes that the arrangement of the Parapat Free Beach Area can increase the attractiveness of domestic and international tourists so that they can enjoy the beauty of Lake Toba which is a super priority destination.
"Hopefully this can increase the economic growth of the people in Simalungun and around the Lake Toba area," Diana said.
Also accompanying the President in the review were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi, and Simalungun Regent Radiapoh Hasiholan Sinaga.
