Active COVID-19 Patients In Babylon Increase By 7 To 51 People

PANGKALPINANG - The Bangka Belitung Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force stated that seven active COVID-19 patients had returned. The total number of positive patients confirmed by the Coronavirus must undergo isolation to 51 people.

"Today, seven of the 51 COVID-19 patients are isolated in centralized isolation, while the rest are self-isolation," said Secretary of the Babel Islands COVID-19 Task Force, Mikron Antariksa in Pangkalpinang, as reported by Antara, Sunday, January 30.

Mikron explained that based on the latest daily COVID-19 case data, the addition of seven confirmed cases of the coronavirus spread in Pangkalpinang 3, Belitung 2, Bangka, and East Belitung with 1 case each. Meanwhile, other districts have zero additional cases.

"Today there are only 2 patients recovered from COVID-19 in Belitung and Central Bangka," he said.

With the addition of these 2 recovered patients, 51 COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing isolation spread across Pangkalpinang 16, Belitung 15, Bangka 7, Central Bangka 5, East Belitung 4, South Bangka 3, and West Bangka 1 patient.

"Alhamdulillah, during January this year there were no patients who died from COVID-19, so the total death toll from COVID-19 remains at 1,462," he said.

According to Mikron, in reducing the number of cases and breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19, his party continues to intensify the implementation of health protocols in people who are starting to lack discipline in carrying out health procedures in public spaces.

In addition, his party together with other relevant agencies continue to optimize COVID-19 vaccination activities to increase the community's immunity.

"We urge the public to always wear masks when doing activities outside the home, reduce mobility, avoid crowds, wash hands and adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle," he said.
