9 Kiosks Including Pecel Lele Stalls In Rebo Market Burnt, Officer: The Gas Stove Is Lit Abandoned By The Owner
JAKARTA - A total of 9 stalls belonging to traders were sold out by fire on Jalan Masjid Gedong, RT 04/01, Gedong Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta.
Head of East Jakarta Sub-dept. of Fire and Rescue (Sudin Gulkarmat), Gatot Sulaeman, said the fire was caused by sparks from a gas stove from a catfish pecel stall.
"The owner of the gas stove was left lit. The fire started to appear at 15.14 WIB," Gatot told reporters, Friday, January 28.
A total of 11 fire engines with 55 personnel were dispatched to the fire site to extinguish the fire.
"The fire was extinguished at 16.09 WIB. As a result of this fire, the loss was estimated at Rp. 500 million. The area burned was 20 x 40 square meters," he said.
Luckily there were no casualties in this incident. Officers are cooling the burning material at the scene.
