JAKARTA - IO Interactive announced a two-month delay in the release of the 007 First Light game from the original schedule on March 27, 2026 to May 27, 2026.

Through an official statement shared in a post on X, the developer decided to delay the launch of the game, to ensure the best quality when it is released.

IO Interactive calls 007 First Light the most ambitious project they've ever worked on, with a focus on delivering an authentic James Bond experience, from intense action, cross-country adventures, espionage, iconic gadgets, to car chases.

"007 First Light is our most ambitious project to date, and the team has been fully focused on delivering an unforgettable James Bond experience," the announcement read.

Although the game is now fully playable from start to finish, additional development time is needed to polish and refine the gameplay experience.

"The development of the game is going well and is fully playable from start to finish, so these additional two months will allow us to polish and refine the gameplay experience, ensuring we deliver the best version at launch," he added.

IO Interactive also expressed optimism that this step would support the long-term success of 007 First Light, and promised to share further updates in early 2026.

"We are confident this will lead 007 First Light to long-term success. We look forward to sharing more updates on 007 First Light in early 2026," the announcement concluded.

In this game, you'll follow James Bond's adventures as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in the MI6 training program, and discover the story of the world's most famous spy's origins.

After his heroic action in the Navy, Bond is offered to join the newly revived Double 0 program. From here, the gameplay expands into dangerous missions, one of which is an attempt to stop a villainous agent that ends tragically.
