Komdigi Prepares 10 SATRIA-1 Internet Points In Aceh, North Sumatra, And West Sumatra

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital has prepared 10 internet service points based on the SATRIA-1 satellite, accelerating the recovery of connectivity in areas affected by flash floods in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra Provinces.

The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, emphasized that this emergency service is a priority for the government to reconnect the connectivity of residents who have been cut off since the flood disaster hit.

"When the communication network is cut off, SATRIA-1 comes as a savior. In this way, residents can reconnect even though connectivity infrastructure is experiencing disruption," said Meutya Hafid in Jakarta, Sunday, November 30.

Meutya explained that the SATRIA-1 satellite, which has been operating since last year, is designed to reach 3T areas and areas that are difficult to access, including during major disasters.

Meutya asked the public to remain vigilant, follow the directions of the officers, and take advantage of this internet access service to obtain official information from the government.

The BAKTI Komdigi team together with BNPB, SAR Team, TNI has also mobilized the device to the internet service point and is targeted to be operational in the near future.
