Jakarta Apple is reshuffling its service structure ahead of the new era of Apple Intelligence in 2026. One of the important steps is the merger of Apple Fitness+ into the Health division, a strategic decision directly linked to the company's grand plans to expand the artificial intelligence-based ecosystem.
This change came after Apple's COO, Jeff Williams, who previously oversees Fitness+, officially retired in October 2025. Since then, the digital fitness service has been diverted under the supervision of Dr. Sumbul Desai, who is now reporting directly to Eddy Cue, Apple's head of the Services division.
According to a Bloomberg report, this merger does not stand alone. Apple is said to be preparing a new subscription service called Health+, which will be part of the big Apple Intelligence 2026 umbrella.
Health + is rumored to be presenting AI-based health chatbots, which can help users monitor body conditions, provide fitness advice, and detect health patterns from data stored in the Health app.

This step also coincides with Siri's big redesign plan on iOS 27, which is scheduled for release in June 2026. The new version of Siri is said to be more personal and capable of interacting contextually with users' health features.
Even so, Apple's move also smells of silent save'. Fitness + has been known as the paid service with the weakest performance compared to Apple Music or Apple TV+. However, due to its relatively low operating costs, Apple still maintains it to avoid negative reactions from users and the media.
With integration into Health, Fitness+ is expected to get wider exposure and offers a more integrated experience, for example, automatic exercise recommendations based on the results of heart rate monitoring, sleep patterns, or user stress levels.
Since its launch in 2020, Apple Fitness+ has been part of Apple One's package and is also accessible separately for $9.99 per month. This service is known for its Time to Run' and Time to Walk' programs, where users exercise while listening to inspiring stories from celebrities.
Now, with a touch of AI, Apple seems to want to make Fitness+ not just a sports platform, but a personal digital health assistant who combines an active lifestyle with smart technology. The era of Apple Intelligence, it seems, will make the body and data run in rhythm.
